Gardening Guidelines – Month By Month

Here are monthly guides for jobs to do in your garden or outside on your patio, balcony or wherever you tend plants.

You may also be interested in getting children, yours or those of your friends and relatives, interested in growing plants either in the garden, perhaps in a small patch that’s theirs, or in containers if they don’t have access to a garden. So, at the end of each month, there are suggestions for ‘juniors’ jobs that they go do for themselves, or with help, whatever their young age.

These tasks are varied – growing plants, especially for food; looking after the insects around us that we all rely on to help in the garden and to help farmers grow our food; and general gardening tasks.
