Learning to Grow Food Competition

Launched in 2022 as a sequel to Cleobury in Bloom, this new competition is based on the idea of helping young children to understand where food comes from and how it is grown.

The project is in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key stage 1 & 2, and SEND, following the National Curriculum Guidelines, with applicants coming from local primary schools and nurseries.

The brief for 2024 competition is Does Pollination Matter?

In 2023 the brief was Does Size Matter? And in 2022 the brief was Planting & Growing Microgreens.

We are supported with funding from several local organisations who provide equipment and gardening supplies.

The judging is carried out by members of the committee, with prizes awarded to the winners in July.

Plant Sales

A plant sale is held in May with plants donated by members and the community.

A further plant sale, raffle and coffee morning, serving teas, coffee, and cakes, is held in October for the funding of pleaching the Lime Trees.

Plant sale dates are included within our Programme, or stay up to date with plant sales and all community news by following our Facebook page!
